Former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss, who served the shortest term as Prime Minister in England, claimed that the end of her premiership after 6 weeks was not her fault and blamed the “system”.
Former UK leader Liz Truss broke her silence in an article in the Telegraph newspaper, highlighting her belief in the rightness of tax cut policies and blaming the Conservative Party opposition and “strong economic structure” for the downfall of the government. Truss stated that she downplayed the resistance faced by free market policies in the system and that “realistic opportunities” to implement her policies and political support were not given. In her article, Truss pointed out that the government was being made the scapegoat for long-term instability caused by bad investments, and despite still believing in tax cut policies, the “forces” against it were too powerful. Truss criticized US President Joe Biden for labeling her policies as “mistakes” and also pointed out that a large part of the media and “public circles” tend to lean towards the left. Truss resigned on October 20th.
